Brand Notes

A Current Brand
Hoyo de Monterrey is a pre-revolution brand established 1865.
It is a Habanos Global brand with a significant market share.
Comprises light strength cigars made using tobacco from the premium Vuelta Abajo region.
There is a non-Cuban brand with the same name.

Release History
All but three of the Standard Production cigars were released pre-1960.
Special Releases commenced in 1999 with the inclusion of Hoyo de Monterrey cigars in the Siglo XXI Humidor.
There have been numerous subsequent Special Releases.
The Hoyo de Monterrey brand currently consists of thirteen Standard Production cigars.

Packaging: Unnumbered black-lacquered BN case (20,000 made), 9 brands, 10 cigars.
Status: A 2009 release. Boxes date from DIC 08.
History: This release is a replica of a special commemorative case gifted to attendees of the tenth Habanos festival in Cuba. The case contains a selection of new standard production releases from the previous ten years. All the cigars are banded with a special commemorative band. The case comes in a white cardboard outer box (that has the box and warranty seal attached) and a soft material cover to protect the high gloss presentation case. The case contains individually machined slots for the respective cigars that is machined from solid Spanish cedar.
